Feasibility study within the European Facility NESOI for the development of a hydroelectric micropumping plant on the Island of San Pietro in Italy. The plant would be powered by the excess energy produced by the systems of 30 homes in an energy community. The possibility to include more energy sources (for instance wind turbines) will be considered to design the optimal hydro plant that can guarantee further implementations.
The project will improve the system’s flexibility and make it possible to envisage a carbon-free future for the island.
