Co-management of the StudioSì Fund together with Iccrea Group
StudioSì Fund, established by the MUR with a budget of 34.8 million euros, supports students residing in the Southern Regions in their tertiary education pathways, in the strategic areas provided by the SNSI
Requirements
The ex-ante evaluation carried out by the EIB identified significant financing needs for access to tertiary education in the southern regions of Italy. In response to this need, the EIB set itself the objective of selecting a financial intermediary who, with the appropriate support of a technical advisor, could organise an efficient process for deploying the funds through the provision of loans to students and an extensive communication and awareness-raising campaign among potential beneficiaries. Sinloc will support the ICCREA Banca Group in the awarding of the mandate through the following activities
a. Supporting the procedural design of the fund (regulations and implementation procedures) and the implementation of the offering strategy and post-investment portfolio management concept;
b. Assisting in the definition of a detailed work plan for the establishment of the distribution and scoring model;
c. Support and participate in the planning, organisation and management of marketing events/workshops to illustrate the financial instrument;
d. Maintain relations with stakeholders/partners and support the implementation of their actions within the Student Loan Fund;
e. Assist in the organisation of and participation in meetings with ICCREA banca, the MUR and the EIB.
Features
Through the Fondo StudioSì loans, students residing in the eight target regions of the project (Abruzzo, Molise, Sardinia, Sicily, Campania, Calabria, Puglia and Basilicata) and enrolled in a university course (Laurea Ciclo Unico, Laurea Magistrale, Masters and Specialisation schools) could apply for up to €50,000 interest-free, to be repaid over 20 years, starting two years after graduation. For courses lasting more than 24 months, a six-monthly disbursement was foreseen, subject to the fulfilment of requirements in terms of ECTS and exams passed. There is an assessment of the student's income prospects and compatibility with loan repayments, so that the student's debt situation is not at risk.
